More Hollywood Hair Secrets!! Lace Front Wigs!

Ok I know that it's been a couple of days since I last posted, but this field does become hectic sometimes! But I definitely had to come on and tell you about the latest Cybernetiks Hair venture! Before I get into the great news, let me give you a bit of history on one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood! Lace Front Wigs.

Have you ever noticed how quick celebrities can go from one hair style to another and it looks so natural that you can't even tell if its extensions or their own hair?? This is the BEAUTY of Lace Front Wigs. Lace front wigs have been around for YEARS!!! At first, only available to those whom had lost hair due to various medical conditions and radiology/chemotherapy, Lace front wigs offered a more quality look by allowing those people to create a natural looking hairline, rather than a normal wigline. This was achieved by taking the very front of the wig and attaching a lace piece which could be glued or taped to the scalp. Once covered with make up, this look could be passed off for a natural free flowing head of hair. This helped many ill women regain their confidence to re-enter the world after surviving their illnesses.

Not only were women benefiting from this procedure, men also have been using lace front as a means to cover receding hair lines and balding spots for years. Since the lace is skin colored, it blends with skin perfectly once applied using glue or tape.

That's just a bit of history on the wig and how it was first introduced to the hair scene. Over the years though, many more people started to see and reap the benefits of Lace Front Wigs, thus making them as popular as they are today! Here are some of the other ways people can benefit from Lace Front Wigs:
  • If you have recently cut all your hair due to damage from a perm or coloring, lace fronts offer many styles, while your own hair is re-growing under it!
  • If your edges have thinned out considerably due to braids or excessive processing, lace fronts can give you a natural looking hair line, while you treat your own scalp to regrow the edge hair!
  • If you are an actress/model and you need to have your hair a certain length and style for a role, but cannot absolutely afford to cut or somehow miraculously grow 6 to 10 inches of hair, Lace Front Wigs are made out of Human Hair allowing you to style them for any role!
There are countless other uses for Lace Fronts, and today I would like to announce that Cybernetiks Hair will start selling Lace Front Wigs from the Renee Renato line! Renee Renato is personal line from one of our stylists who believes in total affordability when it comes to style. Recently she joined up with us to offer great styles for Recession prices and we are happy to let you all know that we have a HUGE STOCK of LACE FRONT WIGS for up to 65% off Hair Supply Stores in NYC! All these Lace Fronts are 100% Human Hair and gorgeous!!!

The Biggest Kept Hair Secret in Hollywood! Microlinks!

So I'm flipping through a hair magazine the other day and there was an article about Paris Hilton. Now we all know that it's no secret, how much Paris rocks extensions, but to have them blatently showing in the picture? Ok maybe she did that on purpose to prove her point, but I just had to let people know about them in today's blog. This popular hair extension procedure has taken over not just NYC, not just America, but the WORLD by storm. What's so great about these extensions are that they are becoming even more affordable, so now you don't have to be a celebrity to get them!

How Microlinks work:

  • There are many types of microlinks that can be used to attach hair extensions, and lucky for you guys, Cybernetiks Hair uses all of them. Depending on your type of hair, we can use the regular ones, the silicone lined ones or the NEW Trumpet Tubes (which Paris uses). We recommend Trumpet Tubes because they offer the strongest hold on ALL types of hair!
  • After we choose the microlink, we begin attaching hair to your head but threading your hair through the microlink.
  • An I-tipped piece of hair is inserted into the microlink.
  • The microlink is clamped shut to provide a secure hold for the extension hair.
  • THERE YOU HAVE IT!

The best thing about Microlinks are that they are freemoving extensions. Since they are attached at the root to your hair, piece by piece, you get the feeling they are your own hair as well! This is perfect for anyone who isn't fond of wefted hair. And as with all Cybernetiks Hair Extensions, removal is as easy as loosening the link and detaching the hair! AMAZING!

Hair Care with Microlinks:

  • It's best to avoid using heavy and oily conditioners near the links as that may cause them to loosen and fall out, it is also best to only condition your hair twice a week.
  • When washing your hair, let hair air dry, then straighten using a straightening iron. If blowdrying is neccessary, try not to be to vigorous and it is best to avoid the roots of the hair.
  • To keep the extension hair lustrous and full of life, spray ends with a light wig hair spray and comb or brush through.
  • With Microlinks, you can get a relaxer, so please let your hair care professional know that you have microlinks installed, so that they may prepare more adequately.

MICROLINKS are an amazing way to add volume and length to your hair without the damaging effects of glue!

I am so glad that people are opening up to extensions, not just for length but for other reasons as well!

Well it's off to a client I go!! MORE TOMORROW! So stay tuned!

An Introduction to EZ WEFT!!

I made it to Philly and back yesterday, although I could have done without the bus ride. As we're making our way through New Jersey, I start seeing these HEAVY clouds. Needless to say it's not always sunny in Philadelphia. On the way back, I decided to catch up on some email inquiries and I noticed that the EZ Weft's were popular this week, hopefully not only because of the awesome price. I definitely had to do an introduction today on them. Let's see if I can get this finished before my next client!!

The EZ Weft application was probably first introduced to the extension scene about 2 years ago. I called it the Miracle Weave because for the first time ever, there was a way to install weft tracks to hair without the pain of sewing, braiding or glue. This weave is as EZ as they say it is.

How it works:

  • Hair is parted into sections, where the EZ Weft will be installed.
  • We measure a weft of hair to the part, always keeping it shorter so it doesn't show.
  • Client's hair is then threaded through the weft at the track.
  • Microlinks are applied and tightened to hold the weft on.

And that's it! The name holds true! Now before you look this up online for more information, you must know that this isn't the actual EZ weft, this is just the Cybernetiks Hair take on it. The actual EZ Weft has Microlinks attached to it, however we find that different clients like different types of hair, therefore we developed a very similar way which gives clients the option to choose hair brand and texture. I'm telling you only Cybernetiks Hair could make the EZ Weft even easier.

EZ Weft is great for:

  • Hair Lengthening - Add up to 10" to your own hair in minutes!
  • Hair Volumizing - Get the thickness and fullness you need!
  • Hair Filling - Make your hair one length, fill out uneven spots!

Oh but wait! I forgot to mention the removal process! Hair Removal is just as simple as loosening the micro link and pulling the weft off of the hair. Goodness, I don't think this procedure could get any easier! I've even done this method on myself. The results are fantastic!

Here is the best part though! EZ Weft can last in your hair for Months! I always say atleast 2 months, but I find that it really depends on the type of hair being installed. With normal tightenings, you can leave the EZ Weft in for as long as you want to, even reusing the hair when you remove it! This is why it is important to choose good Human Hair. You can wash your hair, curl it, and style it when you have the EZ Weft installed, even go to the hair salon and get normal touch ups!

Yeah I think the EZ Weft just outdid itself. I don't even think that I could put more because some people can't handle how great this weave is. But let's hope that it catches on!

And Yes! I finished before my client arrived!! I'll post again later with more hair info for sure!

Trips Abroad! & An Intro to Shrinkies

Well not exactly, but Philadelphia always seems like another part of the world to me. It's very nice out there, the people are kind and well-informed. Traffic actually flows smoothly. The rail system is a bit weird but you know I shouldn't really talk coming from NYC and all. I still get lost on NYC subways and I've been here all my life.

Anyhow I wanted to catch up on writing some blogs because this whole page needs to catch up with the trends. Today I am heading to Philly to perform a shrinkies removal. For those of you are not familiar with Shrinkies, they are a clear acrylic tube which can be used to attach loose hair I-Tip extensions. They are also considered Warm Fusion by our group, because they use heat to "shrink" and be removed. We typically prefer to use shrinkies on people who have very light colored hair, because they do not show with free movement of hair. Shrinkies still have yet to catch on, but people are learning more and more about extensions everyday.

How Shrinkies are Attached:
  • Using a threading needle or bead buller, a shrinkie is threaded on to your hair.
  • An I-tipped piece of hair is inserted into the shrinkie with your hair.
  • Heat is applied over the shrinkie, and it shrinks to form a strong connection of the i-tip to the hair.

How Shrinkies are Removed:

  • Heat is applied to the connection point and the shrinkie loosens.
  • The extension hair is pulled off and usually the shrinkie is pulled off as well.
  • If the shrinkie does not come off with the extension, orange oil is applied to loosen and remove it.

So as you can see this process is very simple and quick. We recommend shrinkies to people with fine, silky hair as they will get the best results with installation and removal.

Important notes on Shrinkies:

  • Hair should only be conditioned at the roots 1 to 2 times a week for a person who washes their hair daily. Conditioner can cause the shrinkie to slip out and take hair with it.
  • Please avoid shrinkies when using any heated tools such as straigteners and curling irons, these can loosen the shrinkies.

Shrinkies definitely offer a natural look as with all Cybernetiks hair extension procedures.

Well that shall be all for now! It will only take me forever to get ready for this trip :) !

Tata for now!

Preview of new Sidebar Slideshow!!

And Now the Formalities!

I'll take a short moment just to get the introduction out the way! I figured if you'll be reading this blog, you should know about me and what I do! My name is Quiana and I'm a NYC Personal Stylist. Ok that's the official name. Truthfully, I'm a college student majoring in Marketing, with a heavy knack for Fashion. I don't really remember how fashion caught my eye, but from as early as I can remember, it was a part of my life. My grandmother made her own clothes, so did my mom, which means the love is probably just in my blood.. The hair thing just kinda came along with it when I started learning to hair style at 16. Over the next couple of years I would define my style and perfect my techniques.

Recently, I involved myself with another group of upcoming personal and hair stylists to create a team known as Cybernetiks Hair. Many people have their own interpretation of that name, I kinda figure that hair and style is as technical as the computer you type on. Many people know how to use it, but don't understand how it's built. That is where personal stylists, make up artists and hair designers come into play. In the field of Fashion, we make up the team that brings a person's vision to life. It is important to have a stylist for just about any occasion, whether one or all three!

So now to the point of this blog. I am here to answer ALL your hair, make up and wardrobe questions! From a simple extension procedure to coordinating a vacation wardrobe! I will also be keeping you up to date with the latest fashion info and celebrity trends! Each entry will discuss something new so stay tuned and of course COMMENT! DISCUSS! SUBSCRIBE and if you are in the greater Tristate Area, and need services, please feel free to email us at cybernetiks.hair@gmail.com! We service all types of requests!

Thanks for checking me out!!!
